IRCA/IACIS

We are pleased to announce the IRCA new version - a stronger tool - that provides easier access to search the IRCA database

The technical information of the aircraft (Manufacturer, Model, Type, Serial number) contained in the IRCA database as been formatted and standardized in conformity with the IACIS (International Aircraft Categorization and Identification Stardard) norm

The IACIS was created by the Common Taxonomy Team (CICTT) formed in 1999 by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Commercial Aviation Safety Team (CAST) do develop and promote a database collecting harmonized information on all types and models of aircraft. This allows a better connexion between the different IT systems and the different aviation organizations.

While many aviation organisations use aircraft identification or grouping schema for administrative and analytical purposes, different standards often are used within these schemas. As a consequence, the same underlying information is identified by multiple descriptors. The CICTT definitions provide standards and guidance for identifying or grouping aircraft.

The IRCA has been modified to adapt to the IACIS in the import of its data and in the web user interface as well. The final objective of IRCA is to have the ability to easily process the specific aircraft information received from the Civil Aviation Authorities.

IRCA is one of the first databases to integrate into the IACIS.

(ICAO) has decided to bring its support to the IRCA initiative to help in the establishment of a truly international register with the aim of:

- Gathering all ICAO member States around this platform, thus improving data access and sharing between aeronautical organisations world-wide.

- Providing ICAO and its contracting States with a tool to easily produce statistics and analyse Safety issues across the world-wide fleet.

- Providing the information free of charge to all ICAO contracting States.

We appreciate their contribution in supplying IRCA with their registered aircraft.
